We all have times in our lives when it may seem hard to be the positive life force that we want to be. Because it is almost impossible to achieve your aspirations, goals and dreams from a position of negativity, and a lot of things in life can, understandably, impact your mindset.

A lot of clients come to me a little stressed out about things outside of their control – they seem to focus on things that they cannot do. Because I ask questions to challenge their thinking, I can get their mindset focussed to a position of gratitude, which means their perspective changes – every time.

What is a mindset?

Your mindset is a collection of thoughts and beliefs that shape your habits and habits affect how you feel, how you think and what you do. But, if you start from a position of gratitude, it will help you to develop a positive mindset.

If you feel a little down, or stuck, ask yourself some of these questions and notice how it impacts your mood. They will remind of the good things in your life.

What unique skill do I have?
What are you taking for granted?
What is something positive about my home environment?
Who can I thank today, and why?
What is one thing that someone has done for me that has improved my life?
What is an opportunity, big or small, that is ahead of me?
What am I excited about doing later this week?
Who is a person in my life that I am blessed to know?
What is the last song that I heard recently that I enjoyed and why? What memory did it bring up?
How is my life better now, compared to this time last year?

I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness. It’s right in front of me if I pay attention and practice gratitude.
