June 4th is National Hug Your Cat Day.
I didn’t even know that this was a thing. What I do know is that I know so, so many cat lovers and so, so many animal lovers in general. Not a day goes by where I don’t see a post on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. Often the posts are from the same group of people (well, the ones Facebook allows me to see, algorithm notwithstanding)! But there are animal lovers in abundance. I still sometimes miss my daughters first cat.
Whilst not everyone is a cat lover, the 4th June can be about other pets and animals. They bring so much relief and benefit into peoples lives, including:
- Companionship: company, knowing you aren’t alone is powerful.
- Stress relief: petting your cat can lower your blood pressure and help keep you healthy.
- Kids with pets actually develop fewer allergies. Who knew?
- Playing with your pet will allow you to bring more activity and movement to your day and burn off more calories!
How do you engage with your cat? What is it about its own personality that you just adore? Let us know in your comments.
I have provided a story about a street cat that wants to be adopted which can help you with reflecting on thinking outside of the box and support your career development. I’ve protected the cats’ identities by using aliases and no cats were harmed in the development of this story.
I hope that you like. Happy Hug Your
